ARISE Africa Fashion Week 2012

Hello Loviesssss,


How have you all been? have had an extremely busy 2-weeks. Was so busy, i missed the Arise Magazine Fashion Week Lagos 2012 :-( 


My very good friend Funlayo Deri was showing her collection and i was not there to cheer/support her......bad bad office boss decided i should go on an official trip that week :-( 


Anyhoo thanks to bellanaija & fabmagazine i was able to upload some pics......phewww.


The 8th of March saw the beginning of one of the most talked about events in the African fashion industry. There were over 77 designers from Africa & around the world who showed their creativity and yeah, they did not disappoint. A few of them were outstanding, some were just there but all in all i was impressed at how fast the industry is growing. The show also saw the introduction of CLAN - Deola Sagoe's children.


I've decided to show some pieces from some designers i really liked- Tiffany Amber, Tsemaye, Funlayo Deri, Odio Mimonet, Phunk Afrique, Meena, Maki Oh, LaQuan, Farrah, CLAN, Christine Brown and also some street style that were quite interesting (trust Nigerians not to disappoint).

The Return of the Pump

Hello Loviesssss,


I was looking through pictures from F/W 2012 collections and i noticed the reintroduction of the pump. Looks like the era of the sky high platforms may or may not be nearing death.


Trending this season more prevalently,  is the pointed toe pump. This doesn't necessarily speak of the end of the platform, it's just somewhat sexier to look at an elegant pointed toe shoe ;-)


The general consensus on heel heights this season is a decent 2-4 inches. And we know this season was less about wow, more about practicality. 


I put together a collection of some pumps i really like.

Hello Loviessss,


How have you all been? Yes i know, its been a while :-( I had what you'll call 'bloggers brain block'. I just could not blog or should i say i could not find anything interesting to blog about.  Funny there were all the award ceremonies but i just figured you would have seen it all.


Its times like these that i salute bloggers like Thirdworldprofashional, Forstlylesake, stylechic360, finally me, seriouslydoughnuts, dressed2dnines, to mention a few. well done peeps :-)
