Hello loviesss,
I got an interesting mail on monday and i decided that over the next 4-5 weeks, i'll do one post a week on how to dress for different stages in your relationship. From first date night - first office lunch with his colleagues - first wedding together - Church/Meet the parents - when you begin shopping for your apartment.... LOL i.e after the proposal In Jesus name :-) *wink* because you can't do all this wahala and he wont propose o...LOL.
Please see below the mail.
Dear Stylefash25
I am a 28 year old chic, a frequent reader of your blog who has recently started dating again after series of heart breaks (thats gist for another day). I have just met this wonderful guy; we have hung out just twice after work . My challenge is he has asked that we go out next week friday for drinks and maybe dancing. As i type this mail, i have no clue on what to wear and i am mad nervous because i haven't been in the dating scene for a while and i am tempted to call and tell him and say i would be traveling for 4 weeks......LOL.
I would love to look stylish, chic and comfortable. Please help!!!!!!
I would also appreciate if you throw in a few tips on how i should act and all.
Dear Y,
Thank you for your email, i couldn't help cracking up at the last line on me throwing in a few tips on how to act on your date. Are you sure you want advise from crazy me??? hehehehe anyways, no worries, we would address that in a bit, lets work from outside in as you know most guys are visual in the beginning.
Your date has told you clearly where he wants to take you, so your job is to dress SUBTLY sexy, flattering your best features but not going over board.
A nice pair of jeans, a bit of glitter here and there, banging heels and a nice purse would work for drinks and dancing if you decide to.
Remember you have to be comfortable and relaxed in your outfit so you aren't tense on the date. You also don't want to keep tugging and pushing anything in :-)
I have put together a collage and also some pictures of myself wearing similar outfits so you can see how it would look on you.
Regarding how to act, my dear just DO YOU, BE YOU, Pray and just enjoy yourself and leave the rest to God jare. Ask questions where you need to, listen a lot and take it all in.
All the best lovie and hope to hear how it went.
Thanks for always reading lovies.
xoxo.

This stylefash you are just a character...LMAO @ "after the proposal In Jesus name :-) *wink* because you can't do all this wahala and he wont propose o...LOL". This is a very chic look, exactly what she asked for- chic, comfortable and stylish. Love the collage so much. Loving your blog more each day girl. Well done.
ReplyDeleteAwww thanks for the kind words Olive lovie
DeleteI love the top, the shoes, the purse... This is a very lovely look babes. The collage is amazing. I want all the sandals you have there.lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks lovie
DeleteHEEEEY!! SF25's lower back makes a debut on the blog...Hmmmm....this is real subtle sexiness oh!! the angle of the pictures today na die oh.....
ReplyDeleteAunty Y, if i may add to the advice, this SF's outfit idea is PERFECT!!! (It screams 'I,m sexy and intelligent (and i know it). I am available but no desperation here niccur'). Please don't squeeze your body into any tight, short dress (it usually connotes desperation and you'll probably have to 'suck belle' all night long); don't wear excessive lagos-girl kind of make-up...Please be real and don't form accents (it disgusts sensible, real guys anyway); don't lie or over-do anything, just have fun. #justmy2kobo #Goodday! #We await the outcome of this date oh!
hahaha lamina you are just impossible. Thanks for your comment lovie.
Deletexoxo
I want everything on that collage. Love the look on you stylefash, you killed it. If she dresses like this, she'll definitely look chic and not desperate. This is one funny post, your sense of humor is crazy...LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment Morenike.
DeleteHello Miss Y,
ReplyDeleteI am a guy and lamina is spot on with her comment. No need for over exposure cos it screams desperate and easy. Be sure to have fun and make sure you don't stay over at his no matter what. I Like the fact that you want to look chic and classy. This look stylefash has shown nails it for me. All the best, I am sure this would end well.
Stylefash I see you, well done girl. Your blog keeps getting better.
Great minds think alike! I actually just created a post featuring a date night look! Mine was a little "sexier" though, lol.
ReplyDeleteI like this outfit though-it can go from dinner date to dancing without any fuss.
Waiting for the rest!
xoxo
Really? I can't wait for your own post. You know you always look hot and sexy :D
DeleteVery interesting post. This look is spot on for the occassion, you cannot go wrong with a bit of glitter. I love the slight open back, subtly sexy. This outfit screams chic, fun loving, confident enough not to dress too revealing and still look sexy. As for the collage, I felt like jumping into my screen to take all the sandals. Wow they are lovely. Your blog is so refreshing,
ReplyDeleteVery chic look. Can easily go from drinks to dance. @ lamina I know that feeling of 'sucking belle' in all night hahahahaha.
ReplyDeleteVery nice post Style Fash...the moodboard is spot on, and will suit most body types....I love your advice as well...'DO YOU, BE YOU'....After all, that's who the date wants to get to know...
ReplyDeleteGood luck *wink*..
Dear Y,
ReplyDeleteEveryone has shown you love and i must confess they are all right, especially on the "DO YOU', trust me, if it is yours, it will pan out right but when you pretend and form and it starts working out you would not know how to say the truth when the time comes so be comfy in your skin.
Let us know how it goes, since we were there at the beginning, lol, just teasing, Enjoy!
Double gorgeous babes. Like the little sparkle on the top and the yellow purse added some color. The look would go easily from drinks to a long night out. And that collage you put together is to die for. As for Miss Y, I see you are already smitten by the guy (I just love love) be sure to be yourself and make sure you laugh a lot at his jokes even if they are boring. LOL That's the only part I'll advise you pretend. LOL. I hope you do a follow up mail telling us how it went.
ReplyDeleteAnd stylefash I can't wait for the rest.
Miss Y, just take stylefash's recommendation don't know if ur slim or full figured but make sure you're comfortable in whatever you wear.On date night just be yourself cause at the end of the day that's what counts.Goodluck
ReplyDeleteI am not sure if you are tall and slim/curvy or Petite and curvy/slim but this look chosen by stylefash would suit different body types. It looks chic, comfortable and not trashy. Good luck on your date Y and just have fun. I am looking forward to the other looks stylefash.
ReplyDeleteAs a guy on a first date with a girl, and she shows up looking like StyleFlash in this post, I'd be mighty proud of myself for nailing a beautiful, stylish and confident girl; the look says nothing less.
ReplyDeleteI can only hope that Y's dude doesn't read your blog.
Wooooow!. All that needs to be said have already been said by all.
ReplyDeleteMy only input is the heels. if Y isn't comfy on heels what is the alternative?
Lovely casual look. me likee
