Brown Sugar - Mrs. O

Hello Loviessss,

How have you all been? TGIF :-)

Today we'll be blogging about one of my favorite people - Mrs. O.

Okay, anyone who knows me well would tell you I love love love her so much. Its taken a lot not to do a post on Mrs. O or Jackie O every other week.....hehehehe.
I think they are both very graceful, elegant and almost never go wrong with what they wear.

Anyhoo to today's post. I'm constantly impressed by the way the first lady wears color. From color blocking to bold prints she gets it right and never plays it safe. Michelle Obama wears so many different designers, She wears established designers like Michael Kors and a whole array of young designers. Within that group, she’s very choose-your-own-style. She never looks like the clothes are wearing her.

Lets take a look at some of my favorite looks.

Thanks for always reading.

The Young BossLady :-)

Hello Loviessss,

How have you all been?

I had an interesting meeting at work a few days ago with the CEO's of our subsidiaries and i realized the board was full of young, dynamic ladies & gentlemen all below 40 years.

Anyhoo a new CEO was appointed for one of our African regional offices. She's below 30 and really smart.

I got thinking about how sometimes leadership can make you drab if you aren't conscious and that brings us to the question - what should you wear as a young stylish boss?

We've tried to put together some looks that are feminine yet commanding, pieces with modest, classic silhouettes. It makes for easier dressing and of course, you’ll look like the authority figure you are.

Just because you’re a boss doesn’t mean your wardrobe has to lose all the fun! And hey, remember you are young.

Remember to add a red lip :-) some colorful shoes, and voila!!!! You look like a boss, and don’t have to give up your youthful style.

Hope You like? Enjoy.

xoxo.

Boy meets girl :-)

Hello Loviessss,

Hope you've been having a splendid week? Mine has been pretty eventful.

Today we'll be blogging on Menswear - Inspired fashion...... Love my post title better though - boy meets girl :-) *wink*

It’s a changing world, at least when it comes to fashion & menswear-inspired garments have always been a force in the world of fashion. From bow ties, ties, blazers, waist coats and the list is endless.

Menswear-inspired fashion can be seen on celebrities, the runway and in the malls, and in every imaginable combiantion. So how much is too much when it comes to adopting a trend like a menswear inspired trend? And most importantly, who can successfully wear this clothing trend?

Below are some basic rules you should bear in mind & help you not go wrong with this trend.

- The menswear trend is fun.
- The goal when adopting a menswear trend is not to look like a male but to feminize menswear items.
-Balance is a key factor to keep in mind. Therefore, focus on one menswear-inspired piece of clothing, such as a blazer or tuxedo pants.
- Try out several types of menswear options to see which piece is right for you. If you are going to wear that crisp, white blazer, then keep your slacks feminine.
- Accessories are always important, but they should be kept minimal.

Who can wear this trend?

- All trends are going to look better on some people than others, the menswear trend is no exception.
- Women with petite or curvy figures will be able to adopt this look easily.
- Women with broad shoulders should stay away from items such as sharply lined or padded-shoulder blazers, for they will draw attention to the shoulders, which could easily appear out of proportion.
- High-wasted tuxedo pants should accentuate all figured due to the creation of a nice waist line; however, khakis may look frumpy on a larger or pear-shaped woman. Counter that possibility with an unstructured jacket.
- When worn correctly, menswear on women is at once both structured and glamorous

On a final note, the important thing to keep in mind when adopting any fashion trend is that fashion should be something that is an extension of your personality. It should work for you, be comfortable and give you lots of self confidence. You should try to buy pieces that can coordinate easily with other wardrobe pieces to create many outfits, and make you glow with pride when you’re wearing them.

Thanks for always reading :-)

xoxo.

N600/£2.50 :-) :-) :-)

Hello Loviessss,

Hope you've all been good? I saw this lovely rubber shoes on my kid sis and was wondering where she got them from, eventually she told me her colleague got them for her.

A few days later i was looking at forestylesake's blog and i saw the post on DIY: Improvised shoe clips and i got inspired :-)

Anyways got to the office the next day and sent my office assistant who knows everywhere in Lagos Island market to help me get them and i also asked her to get me some earrings - i react badly to costume jewelry so i had none at home to use.

She shocked me and came back with the shoes at - N400 and earrings N200 (about £1.50 & Less than £1 respectively)  holy smokes - eyes popping out. Btw i gave her N5,000 :-)

Anyhoo i tried out the experiment with my N600 transaction :-) :-) :-) and voila it worked....lol.
