Hello Loviesssss,
How have you all been? have had an extremely busy 2-weeks. Was so busy, i missed the Arise Magazine Fashion Week Lagos 2012 :-(
My very good friend Funlayo Deri was showing her collection and i was not there to cheer/support her......bad bad office boss decided i should go on an official trip that week :-(
Anyhoo thanks to bellanaija & fabmagazine i was able to upload some pics......phewww.
The 8th of March saw the beginning of one of the most talked about events in the African fashion industry. There were over 77 designers from Africa & around the world who showed their creativity and yeah, they did not disappoint. A few of them were outstanding, some were just there but all in all i was impressed at how fast the industry is growing. The show also saw the introduction of CLAN - Deola Sagoe's children.
I've decided to show some pieces from some designers i really liked- Tiffany Amber, Tsemaye, Funlayo Deri, Odio Mimonet, Phunk Afrique, Meena, Maki Oh, LaQuan, Farrah, CLAN, Christine Brown and also some street style that were quite interesting (trust Nigerians not to disappoint).
Please sit back and enjoy the pics.... Warning, picture overload.....Would figure out 'the continue after the jump button soon' :-) :-) :-)
xoxo.

Hi stylefash25 i was wondering when you would upload the pictures from the event. I love the LaQuan design, its very different from the usual African print we see in most African designers collections.
ReplyDeleteThe designs are quite unique and eclectic, we should have more of such shows to promote the Nigerian fashion designers
ReplyDeleteHello stylefash25 i've missed your posts. I was at the Arise fashion week and i was not too impressed. the street style were more interesting to look at. Some of our designers do not understand what it is to put a collection together. Most of them had designs and fabrics everywhere. But a few of them were okay. My personal favorites were LDA, Tiffany Amber, Meena, & Maki O. For me, CLAN had Deola Sagoe written all over it....
