"Labour of Love"

Hello Loviesss,

How have you all been? I'm particularly excited about today's post because i'm featuring my very good friend and classmate's collection. (Btw, she's my motivation whenever inspiration for my collections seem to fly out the window...... lol).

We attended the prestigious ISTITUTO MARANGONI school of fashion in London. Those were fun times *wink wink* but thats gist for another day.

Now to the designer and her collection...... "Labour of Love"

Funmilayo Csilla Deri is a Nigerian born, London/Budapest based fashion designer who launched her eponymous label in March 2011. The brand- Funlayo Deri is out with their Autumn/Winter 2011 collection of luxury ready-to-wear women’s fashion.

The collection features bold yet softly stylish pieces was inspired by the designer’s desire to pay homage to women who work hard. With each one unique, the pieces celebrate individuality, but all have in common a fine cut, luxurious fabrics and painstaking workmanship.

The Labour of Love collection features intricately draped, structured, asymmetric and fitted dresses and separates in exquisite silks, lace and leather that look divine and feel amazing on the body.

The pieces in the collection are very strong and i admire the craftsmanship that went into making all the pieces.

Well done girl.

I hope you all enjoy it.

XOXO

60's fashion........... Jackie O on my mind

Hello Loviesssss,

Was thinking about blogging on 60's inspired fashion trends but i thought, hey the style icons should be celebrated first then we can talk about how their style inspired designers.

Jackie Onassis (One of my favorite style icons)on my mind.......

Some knew her as the former first lady of JFK but to me, i remember her impeccable style. I follow fashion trend and not politics.. so i have little to say about that.... lol

Jackie O's style wasn't merely a trend but a sense of chicness that transcends all ages and over many decades.

She was timeless and responsible for bringing high style to her era. She was never afraid to wear what she wanted to. She made trousers look hot, shunned in sleeveless dresses and wore trouser suits with sophistication that would never be duplicated.

She set a lot of fashion trends......
- Sleeveless A-Line dresses
- French Suits with 3/4 length sleeves
- Black turtle neck
- Dark huge sunglasses (My Favorite *wink*)
- Pearls
and the list continues....

I tried to get loads of pictures of her style but jeezzzz its was so difficult getting really nice ones. I'll upload more soon.
Lets know what you think about her style..... enjoy.

xoxo.

This look inspired some of karl Largerfeld's lace scarves

                                          The Famous turtle neck

                           Color blocking her way *wink*

Eyes on the belt and i love the shade of green

She wore the embellished chiffon monostrap dress so gracefully

Look at those sleeves... love love love!!!!
                                          Those Sunglasses are amazeballs
